 GO FOR THE GOLD

 

Eligible Handlers: 

  • Must be in good standing with the Auburn Club and the Camellia City Combine.
  • Handlers cannot fly their own birds.
  • Birds will become the property of the handler unless other arrangements are made.

 Entering Birds:

  • Enter two birds and get one backup bird.
  • Enter four birds for $500 and the breeder will receive a bonus bird along with the two backup birds.  Backup birds will not replace bonus birds.
  • Bonus birds will go to all races and be counted as a fully paid bird.  It can be placed in any loft selected by the breeder.
  • Entry fee is $125 per bird due when the bird is shipped and delivered to a committee member and the flyer must be designated.
  • Three weeks prior to the shipping of the first race, all eligible birds must be activated by paying an additional fee of $125 per bird.
  • The $250 activation fee for any backup birds is due at this time.
  • All backup birds will go on rotation.

 Training Races:

  • Two mandatory training races. Fernley, Nevada approximate mileage 110 and Lovelock, Nevada approximate mileage 160.
  • The breeder of the first bird to each loft will receive:

Fernley­         $50

Lovelock      $75

  • No other birds will be released with the Go for the Gold birds.
  • Both mandatory tosses will be posted on the website.
  • No pools.

First Race Winnemucca (250 miles):

  • Saturday, October 11.  Fifty dollars from the paid entry fee will go towards this race.
  • Basketing will be Friday, October 10, at 7 pm at Auburn Club House.

Second Race Mountain City (350 miles):

  • Saturday, October 25. 
  • Basketing will be Friday, October 24, at 5 pm at Auburn Club House.

 Prizes:

  • Capital  Prizes Winnemucca 50/50.
  • Capital Prizes Mountain City Breeder 70%, Handler 30%.
  • Average Speed Prize for both races will be split 50/50: 

First place:       $1,000

Second place:  $500

Third place:     $250

 Pools:

  • Information and pool sheets for the first and second races will be sent to the breeders approximately three weeks prior to the first race.
  •  Activation fees must be paid at this time.

 Website Information:

  • Inventory of the birds will be updated weekly by the race administrator.
  • Birds will be listed with their current status, paid entries, bonus birds, backup birds, etc.

 Special Circumstances:

  • Go for the Gold Committee has the final decision on all disputes.
